Why won’t my car window go up/down? My power window is stuck – how do I fix it? Window won’t open – is it the motor or regulator?
🔧 Is your car window stuck? Here’s how to identify the issue and what steps to take to fix it.
Diagnosing the Problem:
✅ Can you hear the window motor running?
•If yes, the window regulator (which controls the movement of the glass) has likely failed. In most cases, the window will remain partially open or stuck in a down position.
•If no, and the window is stuck fully closed, then it is more likely that the window motor has failed instead.
How to Fix It:
• If the window regulator is faulty, you’ll need a window regulator replacement.
• If the window motor is faulty, you may need a window motor replacement.
