In some cases, additional work or parts may be required that were not included in the original booking. If this happens, you can still carry out the work, but there are a few key steps to follow, especially when the customer has paid using Klarna Pay in 3.
Always inform the customer first
Before carrying out any additional work, you must inform the customer:
- What is the additional work?
- Why it needed
- How much will it cost?
We’ll only proceed with the updated booking if the customer agrees to the revised price.
Klarna price authorisation
Once the customer confirms they’re happy to proceed:
- ClickMechanic will request a new authorisation from Klarna for the increased amount.
- This is to ensure payment for the extra work before you go ahead.
✅ If Klarna approves:
- You can carry out the additional work as agreed.
- Klarna will update the customer’s payment plan accordingly.
❌ If Klarna declines:
- The customer will need to provide a card on file to cover the additional cost.
- Klarna will still pay for the originally authorised amount.
We’ll notify you once payment is secured, so you can move forward confidently. Please do not proceed with any extra work until payment is pre-authorised and confirmed.
