Why has ClickMechanic placed a hold on my funds? What is the pending transaction on my account?
A pre-authorisation is a temporary hold on the funds in your payment card account to ensure payment availability for your booking. The amount does not leave your account but may appear in the ‘pending transactions’ section of your statement.
-
The pre-authorisation is applied by the independent mechanic before each booking.
-
It is made 24 hours before the scheduled booking or at the time of confirmation for same-day bookings.
-
If funds are unavailable the day before, a second attempt will be made at 5 AM on the booking day.
-
The charge is only completed after the mechanic confirms work completion.
If your booking is cancelled, the pre-authorisation is also cancelled, and funds are usually released within 5 working days, depending on your payment provider.
If a new mechanic is assigned to your booking, a new pre-authorisation is required, and the previous one is cancelled and refunded to your card.
For more details on fund availability, please contact your payment provider.
