If you have a car warranty (like WarrantyWise) and want it to cover your repair with ClickMechanic, you’ll need to pay for the repair yourself first, then submit a claim to your warranty provider for reimbursement. ClickMechanic does not take payment directly from warranty companies, but we can provide everything you need to make a claim—including a VAT invoice, if needed.
How it works:
1. Book and pay for your repair
- Use ClickMechanic as normal to get a quote and confirm your booking.
- Payment is secured upfront through our system (debit/credit card).
2. Check if your mechanic is VAT-registered
- Most warranty companies require a VAT invoice to process claims.
- When booking ask for a VAT-registered mechanic in the 'notes for my mechanic' section.
3. Let the mechanic know you’re using a warranty
- Mention your warranty when you speak to your mechanic.
- They can ensure the invoice includes any specific details or diagnostic notes required by your provider.
4. Submit your claim
- After the work is complete, ClickMechanic will email you a receipt, but a VAT invoice can be requested from your mechanic who did the work.
- Use this to make a claim directly with your warranty provider.
Things to keep in mind
- Always check your warranty policy to ensure the repair type is covered.
- Ask for a VAT-registered mechanic if your provider requires a VAT invoice.
- Diagnostic inspections can be provided by the mechanic if required for a claim—just let them know.
- ClickMechanic cannot guarantee reimbursement—that’s up to your warranty provider.
