🔧 What’s Covered (and Not Covered) Under Our 12-Month Warranty
Last updated: August 2025
At ClickMechanic, we want to make it as easy and reassuring as possible to book car repairs online. That’s why all repair work booked through our platform comes with a 12-month warranty on both labour and parts. But as with any warranty, there are a few important exceptions — particularly for diagnostic and consumable-based services.
This guide explains exactly what is and isn’t covered, so you can feel confident before booking.
✅ What is covered?
Our 12-month warranty applies to the majority of repair work and part replacements booked through ClickMechanic, including:
Mechanical and electrical repairs (e.g. brakes, suspension, steering, engine components)
Faulty part replacements (e.g. alternator, water pump, battery, sensors)
Labour undertaken to complete a booked repair
Any parts supplied and fitted by the mechanic as part of the job
If something goes wrong with the workmanship or a fitted part within 12 months, your mechanic will arrange a fix or replacement at no additional cost.
❌ What is not covered?
Some services fall outside the scope of our warranty because they do not involve repairs or part replacement, or because the outcome cannot be guaranteed. These include:
1. Air-conditioning Regas (R134a or R1234yf)
Regassing replenishes refrigerant gas but does not diagnose or repair leaks.
AC systems may develop faults or leaks after a regas.
This is considered a consumable maintenance task and is not covered by warranty.
2. DPF Regeneration or Cleaning
DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) cleaning or forced regeneration may restore function temporarily, but if the underlying cause (e.g. sensor or injector faults) is not resolved, issues may return.
These services are not classified as repairs and are excluded from warranty.
3. Diagnostic Appointments
These are inspection-only visits where no parts are fitted.
The purpose is to identify issues, not repair them.
Warranty only applies if a repair is subsequently booked and carried out.
4. Consumables and Top-Ups
Services like oil changes, coolant flushes, screenwash refills, and brake fluid top-ups do not include part replacement.
These are expected to be repeated periodically and are not eligible for warranty unless related to a failed part.
ℹ️ Why these exclusions exist
We appreciate it can be frustrating to find that certain services aren’t covered. The exclusions exist because:
These services don’t fix or replace a faulty part.
They involve consumable items or are dependent on external factors (e.g. vehicle condition, driving style).
Problems may arise after the service that were not present — or detectable — at the time.
For example, a small AC leak may go unnoticed during a regas and only become apparent later. Similarly, a DPF blockage may return if caused by a fault elsewhere in the engine.
